I have early onset arthritis so it’s important for me to keep correct posture throughout the day, the Posie helps me do just that, I am very pleased with my purchase and feel it helps me to keep doing what I love to do easier….you just have to try it for yourself!

I have been suffering from back pain for the last 5 years. My job keeps me at a desk most of the day, which causes me to slouch and exacerbates the problem. When I put Poser on for the first time, I was surprised to find that the tension I was carrying in my upper middle back was reduced just by correcting my posture and getting my shoulders back. After wearing Poser for a week between 3 1/2 to 7 hours per day I found myself sitting taller at my desk without even thinking about it. My standing posture straightened out too and I noticed that I had less back pain doing activities, like skiing, weightlifting, and kitesurfing. If you have back pain like me due to bad posture, I would definitely recommend giving Poser a try.

My Posie has really helped me with posture and being mindful of my positioning. I wasn't sure how long I'd be able to wear it, but it's actually quite comfortable and I wear it when I'm siting at my desk, among many other places (exercising, puzzling and more!).

I love my Posie! I spend a lot of time sitting at a desk with my back curved forward. This habit has created shoulder and back pain, yet even knowing this it’s been hard to remember to sit up straighter. I have tried many products that promise to help correct posture, but have always stopped using them because they were uncomfortable or ineffective. Then I came across Posie. The materials are very comfortable, yet firm enough to help correct my posture. I have been wearing mine for a few months. In addition to sitting at a computer, I do a lot of physical and repetitive work, and I didn’t realize how much that was contributing to my back pain until I tried Posie. Posie has helped me to align my posture, whether I am sitting or up and about. It has been working great. Not only is Posie functional, it also does not disrupt what you can wear. Posie is invisible even with a thin T-shirt. You can practically wear anything you want, and nobody will ever be the wiser.I highly recommend Posie to anyone who has been suffering with back and shoulder pain from bad posture. It not only helps your posture but it is also comfortable to wear.

I love this product so much! As a tech worker sitting at your desk all day is part of the job. I frequently have back pain from my poor posture but haven’t wanted to buy any posture corrector that would be stiff, uncomfortable or awkward to wear around the office. What I love about the Posie is I can wear it under my shirt or jacket. The material is so soft and comfortable but still manages to keep in place through the work day. It's is something I have been able to throw on when I feel my back starting to hurt and it helps alleviate the pain or something I can put on in the morning and feel great all day.

FAQ

It's up to you! Wear it for as long as it makes you feel better.

When you first start wearing it, your body might not be used to your new posture, take it easy on yourself. You can loosen the strap, or you can take it off. Give yourself a break when you want to go back to slouching.

Some people wear it all day, some for 6 hours a day most days, some wear it for a specific activity, like running or walking, or vacuuming, or working in front of their computer.

The more you wear it, the more comfortable it gets. It takes some wear-time to mold to your body. It also gets stretchier with wear.

Once its on, make sure to adjust so that the shoulder joints and the underarm pieces are in the right places on your body, as shown in the "how to put it on" section.

It's as comfortable as it can be to still do it's job. It's pulling your shoulders back, something you are not used to doing on your own, that can take getting used to, muscularly speaking.

And, every body is different. Currently we have 9 sizes, each fits a range of body types. Some body proportions are less common, and the current sizes might not be a perfect fit. For example if you have broad shoulders and a comparatively tiny underbust. In the future, we plan to have more size variants to better fit a broader range of body types.

You can wear it for any everyday activity. Seriously. Try it.

Yes. You can wear it for sports and exercise. It's been tested on long runs, playing soccer, doing yoga, weight-lifting, swimming. If it's a sport or activity where you need to keep your arms up for a long time, and especially if you have large biceps, you may feel some downward pressure on your bicep at the shoulder joint in the current version. You can see some of the activities done in a Posie® on instagram @posie.poser or here.

Yes. It's designed to stay in place.

Yes. You can wear it while driving. If you sit fairly close to the steering wheel with your arms bent at the elbows, you will be comfortable. If you typically keep your arms stretched straight out (typically if you are tall and/or have long legs) and your hands on the steering wheel at the 10 and 2 o'clock position, you may feel some downward pressure on your bicep at the shoulder joint after a while, especially if you have large biceps, in the current version of the product.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommends that drivers place their hands at the 9 and 3 o'clock position on the steering wheel, which is when the left hand is at the 9 or 8 o'clock position, and the right hand is at the 3 or 4 o'clock position. If you are wearing a Posie® or Poser® and have a very long drive (6+ hours), you may find the 8 and 4 o'clock position more comfortable.

I am 5'2" and sit relatively close to the steering wheel with my arms bent, most of the time holding the wheel at approximately the 10AM and 2PM position. I've worn my Posie® on many 6+ hour drives without any discomfort. I feel better wearing it when I drive and less achy after a long drive.

Yes. You can wash and dry it with your clothes. Please see the wear & care page to know what to expect depending on how you clean it.

If you see some redness on your skin after taking off your Posie® or Poser®, this is like the elastic in a sock leaving an indentation on your skin, it goes away.

If you feel some skin irritation or sensitivity, here are some possible reasons.

Skin Related:

  • Women - For women who menstruate, hormonal changes can make your skin more sensitive, especially during the second half of your cycle and through the beginning of your period
  • Age - As we age, our skin becomes thinner and more susceptible to abrasion
  • Weather - temperature and humidity can make skin sensitive, low humidity can cause dry skin and high humidity can cause itching or allergic reactions

Product Related:

  • When your Posie® or Poser® is new, the flexible piece that runs along your underarm is straight. It takes some wear time for this piece to curve, and stay curved, and you may feel it more in the beginning
  • If your Posie® or Poser® is too small, it might be too tight
  • If certain parts of your Posie® or Poser® are misaligned with your body, for example the grippy shoulder joint areas or the flexible piece along the underarm, this might cause irritation
  • If the hook & loop (aka Velcro®) on the strap is misaligned, so that the straps aren't lined up on top of each other, the exposed part of the loop side of the strap might irritate your skin
  • There is a very thin layer (.003mm) of a solvent free polyurethane thermoplastic substance that creates grippiness on some parts of your Posie® or Poser®. Before it's stretched, this substance is pretty non-porous, and if it's really humid, you might get some skin irritation sometimes in these regions. As you stretch and wash your Posie® or Poser®, it will become even thinner.

Most skin irritation resolves on its own if you take off your Posie® or Poser® and wait until your skin recovers before wearing it again.

There are many studies about the unhealthy physical and unhappy mental consequences of poor posture. That it can lead to shorter breaths (decrease respiratory function), fatigue, all kinds of pain (back, neck, muscles, headache), what else? Did you know it can slow digestion and bring on constipation? Yay!

And, you might feel more peppy and confident when you sit up straight. But did you know you might also turn into a math wiz?

Here's the research. I recommend reading it wearing a Posie® or Poser®. Take these studies with a grain of scientific mindset salt, some have stronger evidence than others.

We want you to love your Posie® or Poser®. If there is an issue when it arrives, if it's the wrong size, or just doesn't fit your body, please get in touch within 10 days of receiving it.

Posie®'s and Poser®'s are like baby ducks, imprinting on you. They mold and stretch to the shape of your body. Once you've worn one, the longer you wear it, the more it's like it's been made just for you. Generally, like clothes and shoes, to return it, it must be returned in new condition, unwashed and unworn. However, if you can't get it to fit you, please reach out to us within 10 days of receiving it.
